SAP GTS for bonded warehouse and ‘Geautomatiseerde Periodieke Aangifte’
FujiFilm, one of biggest companies in the fields of imaging and document solutions, is implementing a centralized SAP system for Europe. This model requires the migration of the different existing companies into SAP R/3.
SAPSTROOM was involved in the setup of a bonded warehouse solution for the Dutch subsidiary of FujiFilm; the project was based on SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS).
Major challenges in the project:
- Bonded stock was scattered over different plants
- Some European customers wanted to get bonded stock, while some non-EU customers desired to have free stock
- The Dutch ‘Geautomatiseerde Periodieke Aangifte (GPA)’ – periodical reporting to Dutch customs authority of bonded shipments, bonded stock and import declararions - was not supported by SAP; development was needed.
Additionally, the Dutch GPA declaration does not only contain the bonded stock movements in the Netherlands but also the movements in Germany, so called Single European Authorization application.
Although the project was quite challenging, the go-live was very smooth, and required almost no support afterwards. The FujiFilm customs department was pleased with the business comprehension and the quality of the work done by the SAPSTROOM consultants.
